the Ministry of Tourism launched a 'Visit Malawi' branded taxi that operates in London in a bid to promote Malawi as a tourist destination

President Chakwera announced austerity measures where he has suspended all foreign trips by members of his government funded by public funds and also recalled all cabinet ministers with immediate effect in a bid to cut government spending in light of the prevailing economic situation in Malawi. he also cut reduced government fuel allocations by 50% to save money  .

National Action Plan (NAP) for Open Government Partnership (OGP) launched

President Lazarus Chakwera launched the National Action Plan for Open Government Partnership (OGP) for Malawi at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe. The OGP is a multilateral initiative with 75 member countries that aims at ensuring strong commitments by governments to promote transparency, empower the citizenry, fight corruption and harness new technologies in order to strengthen governance and make the government open and more accountable.
